The first contact of your puppy with its vet is crucial: so many impressions and different odours. Therefore, we do take our time are let it explore and sniff around. Most times it is good that your puppy can just look around and we make a first general analysis if everything is in place, check the microchip and discuss the next steps and answer your questions. In a second step we can do more detailed examinations if needed and make the first vaccination and can do the microchipping and registration in the official dog database AMICUS.

In their young live puppies do get in contact with several viruses and bacteria for the first time. Some of them are harmless but some like distemper or parvoviruses are responsible for grave health problems. Often, they are even fatal. We do recommend vaccination especially in young pets. Please ask for advice. We do offer a detailed medical consultancy on what kind of vaccination is really needed.

Often in case of travel or bringing your pet to day care animals have to be vaccinated. Please ask us. We can give you all information necessary to avoid any problem.

The youngest puppies love to stroll around and put their nose in everything they can find. That’s fine, but parasites like tape worms or fleas are everywhere. Parasites are able to depress the development of young animals in a serious way. Regular anti parasitic treatment is wise. Please let us give you advice which prophylaxis treatment is reasonable and has the maximal compliance in your pet’s circumstances.
