Our surgery unit is located within of the veterinary practice. We have broad experiences in any kind of soft tissue surgery, including removing intestinal foreign bodies, extracting stones from the bladder, or reconstruction procedures after skin tumour excision.
In diagnosing and treating lameness in dogs and cats we have many years of experience. Our hope is to manage individuals medically and with supporting diets. Surgery is undertaken only when this is not possible. If more specific operations skills are needed, we will collaborate with the excellent specialist of the University of Zurich.
There are different ways to suppress reproduction or sexual behavior in pets. One way is to neuter the animal. Neutering means the surgical removal of the testicals of a male or the ovaries of a female animal. Another possibility is to administer special veterinarian drugs. Their effects are reversible.
The anesthetics and drugs we use during surgery together with the methods we use to monitor vital signs are comparable to those used in humans in hospital operations. Continuous monitoring includes blood pressure, oxygen saturation, carbon dioxide levels, and ventilation. While we never take the administration of a general anesthetic casually, anesthetic complications are rare despite the sometimes severe nature of the problems we manage.
During opening hours emergencies are handled immediately. Outside opening hours you will be directed to our veterinarian or to the veterinary clinic in charge. We do provide a 24/7 emergency service in collaboration with the Ennetseeklinik in Hünenberg.
