ears (otology)

Disease and infections of the ears are quite common. In general, we see them more often during warm season. Many breeds are predisposed with their lop ears or long hair covering their ears. If you see that your pet is starting to shake its head or squeals when you want to tickle its ears please let us take a look. Frequent shaking or squealing are often the first signs of ear infections which can get really painful.
In many cases, a proper cleaning of the external structures and correct cut of the hair(s) of the ears is sufficient. But sometimes if mites or fungus are already in the ear, a medical treatment is the best way to help your pet.
